Ngaduman Village

Ngaduman village is not too far from Kedakan. It can be reach by car more less 2,5 hours from Yogyakarta and the way to get there is full of beautiful view. The position of this village is higher than Kedakan. During the trip you can enjoy the field of vegetable that makes you oblivious with noisiness of downtown. The fresh air will brings you to free of pollution in the downtown. There are views that you will find in the trip, organic vegetables field and pine forest. This village becomes unique because of the geographical position. Sobo Alas will bring you to imagine that you are in Tibet. The construction of the traditional house is still using wood for the main material and they use traditional architecture system that called limas (one of the traditional house of Java), there are 74 families. Another plus point is they are 100 % Christian and also already build a church. This is because of their hospitality, Sobo Alas provides you as a family there that makes you comfort and feels Merbabu is the second house for you.

Ngaduman has step forward for the plantation field and they already know about organization. This village is already having been "Paguyuban" or systematic organization. According to their way to make a terrace it is proven that they keep the local genius. This village is known as potatoes producer so they make it becomes build upon. Beside potatoes, you can find other vegetables such as: cabbage, celery, onion leaves, and strawberry. The estate is not too far from villager’s house. There some estates that located higher than the villager’s house. You can see the landscape of this village when you get upper position.

Ngaduman have been visited by groups of students from Jakarta and Semarang (Central Java). They are visiting this village twice a year and stay in for 1-2 weeks. They easily assimilate with the villagers. Besides, they stop in and stay on the villager’s house those homely and traditional facilities that already been prepared before. The students are learn about farming by active participated with the villagers.

Ngaduman have traditional performance art Jaranan or Kuda Lumping. This performance had been hold once a year, when the Easter. Sobo Alas will entertain you with the performance of Jaranan. You are also accompanied by a guide who will tell you about the history of Ngaduman.
Sobo Alas will bring you to go to another village it is Gedongan that located the next to Ngaduman this is 1 km long. It will take 15 minutes if you go by car or it takes 1 hour by foot. Gedongan has more beautiful views than others villages. It is possible to see the landscape around Merbabu villages during your trip. When you go to the north, you can see Ngaduman village in the left of your side. Ngaduman looks like Espanola, Italy or France, it is very beautiful. Selo Ngisor village

Selo Ngisor village is located between Kedakan and Ngaduman village. When we go there and we start from Jogja, this village is closer than both of villages, Kedakan and Ngaduman. Selo Ngisor has an advance agricultural system, and it known as a producer of vegetables. There are many kinds of vegetables there.

The most specially, this village plants many kinds of vegetables by organic system, therefore Selo Ngisor known as a central of organic agriculture. The agricultural farm in Selo Ngisor is same as in Kedakan and Ngaduman.

Tourists will see many kinds of vegetables that planted by an organic system. Then they can pick vegetables, cook, and finally eat them. Tourists who want to know more information about these organic plants such as seedling, fertilizing, and harvesting, they can stay at this village for some days. So, they will study whole about the organic system. This system doesn’t use any chemical fertilizer.


When tourists stay for some days to study about the organic system, they will accompanied by the expert. Every facility had been provided. And you are also accompanied by a guide who will tell you about the history of Selo Ngisor.


In Selo Ngisor, tourists will know the making and using process of "Agensi hayati", which is using fungus to get rid of plant diseases and these processes also without chemical fertilizer.
